Senior Accountant (m/f/d)

Overall Objective

Responsible for the professional and organizational management of financial accounting, including closing processes, team leadership, and the continuous development of the finance organization within a corporate group environment.

The role combines operational closing responsibility with leadership, analytical, and transformationrelated tasks.
This is a hybrid position that requires partially on-site presence in Bahlingen a.K. / Haslach in the Kinzigtal region.

Senior Accountant (m/f/d)
Annual gross salary range: EUR 70.000 € – 85.000 €

• Independently prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
• Support group reporting and reporting packages under US GAAP / IFRS requirements
• Perform closing-related accounting entries, including accruals, provisions, foreign currency valuations, and intercompany reconciliations
• Coordinate closing-related activities with internal departments and Shared Service Centers (SSC)
• Perform quality checks on results delivered by the SSC, ensuring plausibility, completeness, and timely delivery
• Support the SSC with technical accounting queries and escalation handling
• Identify closing risks, errors, or delays at an early stage and proactively drive resolution
• Prepare closing documentation and account reconciliations
• Act as the main contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and internal auditors
• Support annual financial statement audits, tax audits, and statutory inspections
• Contribute to continuous process improvements within the accounting environment
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and business control standards
• Support finance-related projects and transformation initiatives.

• Commercial training with further qualification as Certified Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in Accounting / General Ledger Accounting
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB); experience with US GAAP and/or IFRS is an advantage
• Experience working in corporate environments and with Shared Service Center structures
• Solid SAP FI/CO knowledge
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
• Strong communication skills in both German and English
• High degree of ownership and accountability in a remote working environment.
