As a VAT specialist within Group Tax – the central tax department of Deutsche Börse Group – you will play a key role in ensuring VAT compliance across our entities. You will drive process improvements, contribute to strategic tax initiatives, and act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders while supporting our companies' growth initiatives.
Your responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of VAT filings as required by national legislation for entities established in Europe and APAC (further countries to be expected) including interaction with the respective head offices
- Dealing with VAT relevant matters within SAP landscape
- Support of month-end / year-end closing processes
- Coordination of tax audits and/or inquiries
- Dealing with complex VAT-related matters across the organization
- Supporting the enhancement of VAT-relevant processes and compliance tools
- Close collaboration with internal departments (Accounting, Legal, IT) and external advisors
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations, assess their impact on the organization, and provide guidance accordingly
- Contributing to knowledge sharing within the tax function and with other stakeholders
- University degree in business administration with a focus on taxation or finance, further qualification as certified tax advisor
- More than 5 years of professional experience in VAT compliance within the financial services industry
- Expertise in ERP systems (e.g. SAP S/4 HANA); especially in SAP SD
- Strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English
