(Senior) Manager Corporate M&A & Origination
We are seeking a (Senior) Manager Corporate M&A & Origination to support our corporate growth initiatives thus enabling sustainable growth based on a defined “Outdoor Infrastructure Strategy” enabling the European Energy Transition. This role will play a critical part in identifying, analyzing, and executing mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other strategic investments. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, hands-on mentality and a passion for strategic business development.
- Responsibility for corporate M&A origination and execution central and northern Europe (focus Germany, Austria and UK): Identification and active approach (target sourcing) of potential targets (owners, family businesses, developers, operators).
- Scouting local opportunities (e.g. company successions, portfolio deals, decentralised infrastructure projects) and establishing systematic lead pipelines.
- Establishing and maintaining a network of banks and working closely with investment banks and advisors.
- Control and operational transaction / project management (lead management, schedule, budget, coordination of internal and external consultants).
- Preparation of a thorough basis for decision-making (investment memorandum, financial and risk analysis, concerns, considerations) for the Investment Committee and senior management.
- Close coordination and collaboration with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, controlling and business units).
- Responsibility for direct external interfaces and negotiations with sellers/interested parties.
- Support for post-merger/integration process in close cooperation with the operational units (PMI coaching if necessary).
- Completed degree (business administration, industrial engineering, law or similar); ideally MBA/CFA or comparable additional qualification.
- As a minimum 4 to 8 years (or more) of relevant experience in corporate M&A, investment banking or private equity with proven origination experience.
- Proven successful M&A transaction experience particularly in German-speaking countries.
- In-depth industry knowledge in energy transition and/or rail infrastructure (operations, asset management, infrastructure projects).
- Practical experience in transaction management and preparation of IC documents; excellent Excel, PowerPoint and financial modelling skills.
- Strong network of banks, M&A advisors and relevant market participants in Germany.
- Affinity for numbers, analytical judgement and communication skills.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to work, high level of personal responsibility and strong communication skills.
- Business fluent in German (C1 Level) and fluent English are a must. Willingness to travel on a regular basis within Europe and regular presence in the headquarters in Austria.
