To strengthen our Shared Service Center Finance organization, we are looking for a hands-on Team Lead Accounting who combines strong technical accounting expertise with the responsibility of being the main accountant for one of our largest SAP entities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operational accounting while also taking ownership of a small team and driving quality, structure, and continuous improvement.
In this dual role, you will:
- Act as Team Lead for Accounting within the SSC, coordinating and developing the team
- Serve as the Senior / Lead Accountant for one major legal entity (~15 M€ revenue, ~50 employees)
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial accounting under HGB and IFRS
- Work in a hands-on manner within SAP FI, close to day-to-day operations and month-end close
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, coordinate, and support the Accounting team in the SSC with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
- Ensure smooth daily operations and reliable month-end and year-end closings
- Act as first point of contact for accounting-related questions within the team
- Support onboarding, knowledge sharing, and process standardization
Operational Accounting (Hands-on – Key Entity Responsibility)
- Full accounting responsibility for one major SAP entity, including:
- Accounts payable and receivable
- General ledger and fixed assets
- Bank accounting, payments, and dunning
- Intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Review and post employee expenses, travel expenses, and credit card statements
- Ensure proper accounting of lease contracts in accordance with IFRS 16
Reporting, Closing & Compliance
- Actively contribute to monthly and annual financial statements under HGB and IFRS
- Support statutory, statistical, and corporate tax reporting (annual)
- Prepare analyses, reports, and key figures for management
- Act as contact person for auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders
Process & Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation within accounting processes
- Support special projects within Finance (e.g. SAP-related improvements, SSC optimization)
- Completed commercial or academic qualification, such as Business Administration (Bachelor or IHK), Industrial Specialist, Industrial Clerk, Tax Clerk, or a comparable background.
- Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in an international or industrial environment
- Strong hands-on accounting background, not only coordination
- Solid knowledge of HGB and IFRS
- Experience with SAP FI (mandatory or strong advantage)
- Very good MS Office skills, especially Excel
- Initial leadership experience or strong motivation to take on team responsibility
